Services
At Healthiest Version of You, we focus on providing high quality nutrition care for people with complex disabilities and comorbidities. We are focused on understanding and listening to the needs of participants and providing nutrition advice that is tailored to their situation to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.
What we offer our NDIS Participants
We support NDIS participants in building independence with tasks like meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. Through regular nutrition education, we help participants understand and manage their individualised therapeutic diets and empower them to take control of their nutrition both at home and within community. We can also provide guidance to family members, support workers, and others involved in managing the participant’s nutrition.

With experience navigating the NDIS including the reasonable and necessary criteria, we aim to have participant's access the services they need. This is done by advocating on their behalf with professional reports and letters that link their nutrition needs to their disability, and recommend ongoing support to help them reach their NDIS goals.

We also collaborate with other members of the support team, offering nutrition expertise to guide the care process.

Meal Plan/Meal Guide
Meal planning can be a great way of saving you time and money. It may reduce stress, decision fatigue, food waste and helps create food awareness around portions. Generally, meal planning and preparing your meals at home can offer a diet lower in salt, sugar, energy (calories), preservatives and increase your nutrient intake.
We can help you create your own meal plan or meal guide. If you prefer to learn how to do it yourself, we can provide tailored nutrition education so you gain an understanding of what your needs are and what foods include that nutrition, or we can develop a plan/guide for you. Both options will ensure we work towards creating a simple, balanced diet and an adequate intake from a wide variety of food and beverage sources to achieve your desired health goals.

Report Writing
After completing a full nutrition assessment, we can write a report or provide a letter of support as requested which will include any health conditions, disabilities and other impairments that may reduce your capacity to complete your daily activities, achieve your health and wellbeing goals or any other goals you might have. We also include how we plan to help you achieve them through nutrition therapy, as well as refer to the NDIS reasonable and necessary criteria. With expertise in the field of medical nutrition therapy, we have the training, and skills to provide evidence that assists decision-makers at the NDIA on the supports you require to achieve your goals. We will advocate for your nutritional needs related to your disability, to help you build capacity and independence in your everyday life.
Nutrition Management Plan
For some NDIS Participants (particularly those living in accomodation requiring 24/7 support), we like to provide a Nutrition Management Plan. This personalised and comprehensive document outlines the participant’s nutritional needs, provides practical tips and examples for meeting those needs, and includes the dietitian's recommendations. It helps ensure that everyone involved in their care is on the same page and following the recommended dietary guidelines. This nutritional management plan is designed to make it easier for caregivers to provide nutrition safely and support the participant's nutritional goals and overall well-being. *Please note this is not a mealtime management plan.

Grocery Shopping
Guidance
Have you ever wondered which food products are better for you while shopping? For example, which muesli bars, yoghurt brands, or sauces are healthier? Or maybe you’re interested in making healthier swaps for the foods you already buy. The easiest way to learn is by meeting you at your local grocery store (E.g., Aldi, Woolworths, Coles, or IGA) so you can navigate products and ask questions on the spot. We’ll teach you how to read labels, understand confusing packaging, and identify allergens (e.g., soy, gluten) so you can make smarter food choices. We've helped our clients reduce salt and sugar, increase protein or fibre, and manage calories for weight control. You can use this service as a one-time consultation or revisit us periodically as needed.

Weekly phone call accountability check ins
What often lets people down in their health journey is lack of accountability. Maybe you procrastinate or have trouble implementing changes due to lack of motivation some days. Weekly, short phone calls are beneficial for tracking progress on a regular basis, to touch base with a nutritional professional to give you on-the-go advice and help you stay on track to working towards your goals.

Staff Training
Training staff to carers or support workers on relevant areas of nutrition for the participants they service. E.g. nutritional needs for managing a chronic disease (e.g., diabetes) meal preparation to suit these nutritional needs, tube feeding regime, malnutrition in the aged care services
What activities we won't be able to undertake (not within a dietitian's scope of practice)
-
Assessments of chewing and swallowing capacity, or making food texture and fluid thickness recommendations. This also includes developing mealtime management plan. We only create meal plans/guides, nutrition management plans and enteral feeding regimes.

-
Assessments of physical activity capacity.

-
