Services

At Healthiest Version of You, we focus on providing high quality nutrition care for people with disabilities and complex comorbidities. We are focused on understanding and listening to the needs of participants and providing nutrition advice that is tailored to their situation to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.

What we offer our NDIS Participants

We support NDIS participants in building independence with tasks like meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. Through regular nutrition education, we help participants understand and manage their individualised therapeutic diets and empower them to take control of their nutrition both at home and within community. We can also provide guidance to family members, support workers, and others involved in managing the participant’s nutrition.

With experience navigating the NDIS including the reasonable and necessary criteria, we aim to have participant's access the services they need. This is done by advocating on their behalf with professional reports and letters that link their nutrition needs to their disability, and recommend ongoing support to help them reach their NDIS goals.

We also collaborate with other members of the support team, offering nutrition expertise to guide the care process.

Meal Planning

Meal planning can be a great way of saving you time and money. It may reduce stress, decision fatigue, food waste and helps create food awareness around portions.  Generally, meal planning and preparing your own meals at home can offer a diet lower in salt, sugar, energy (calories), preservatives, chemicals and increase your nutrient intake as your diet is optimised.

We can help you create your own meal plan (after providing some healthy eating education) if you prefer to learn how to do it yourself or we can develop one for you. Both options will ensure we work towards creating a simple, balanced diet and an adequate intake from a wide variety of food and beverage sources to achieve your desired health goals.

Report Writing

After completing a full nutrition assessment, we can write a report or provide a letter of support as requested which will include any health conditions, disabilities and other impairments that may reduce your capacity to complete your daily activities or achieve your health and wellbeing goals. We also include your goals and how we plan to help you achieve them through nutrition therapy, as well as link recommendations to your NDIS goals.  With expertise in the field of medical nutrition therapy, we have the training, and skills to provide evidence that assists decision-makers at the NDIA on the reasonable and necessary supports you may require.  We will advocate for your nutritional needs to help you build capacity and independence in your everyday life.

Nutrition Management Plan/Meal Guide

For some NDIS Participants (particularly those living in accomodation requiring 24/7 support), we like to provide a Nutrition Management Plan. This personalised and comprehensive document outlines the participant’s nutritional needs, provides practical tips and examples for meeting those needs, and includes the dietitian's recommendations. It helps ensure that everyone involved in their care is on the same page and following the recommended dietary guidelines. This meal guide is designed to make it easier for caregivers to provide nutrition safely and support the participant's nutritional goals and overall well-being.

Grocery Shopping
Guidance

Have you ever wondered which food products are better for you while shopping? For example, which muesli bars, yoghurt brands, or sauces are healthier? Or maybe you’re interested in making healthier swaps for the foods you already buy. Our service can meet you at your local grocery store (like Aldi, Woolworths, Coles, or IGA) and help you make smarter choices. We’ll teach you how to read labels, understand confusing packaging, and identify allergens (e.g., soy, gluten).  We've helped people reduce salt and sugar, increase protein or fiber, and manage calories for weight control. You can use our service as a one-time consultation or revisit us periodically as needed.

Weekly phone call accountability check ins

What often lets people down in their health journey is lack of accountability. Maybe you procrastinate or have trouble implementing changes due to lack of motivation some days. Weekly, short phone calls are beneficial for tracking progress on a regular basis, to touch base with a nutritional professional to give you on-the-go advice and help you stay on track to working towards your goals.
